The Narrow Way

Time to get out to the parks!

We love spending time worshipping the Lord out in parks and in nature!  It is a blessing to be able to woship Him and give Him all the honor and glory!  Yesterday was our first Worship in the Parks event for this year!  It was a bit spontaneous so we didn’t end up inviting others to join us, but the weather was so amazing that we felt like we needed to get out there and shine the light!  I hope that you enjoy the video that Asher took of Chris and I worshipping!  It was such a blessing!  Chris was waving the Rise up on Wings Like Eagles flat that we have and God put an Eagle in one of the tree above us.  We could hear it’s call like it was worshipping the Lord along with us!  Such a blessing!

Christian and Family Entertainment


Finding good family entertainment can be challenging in todays society!  Especially with all that is going on with the internet.  We need to be careful and protect our families from thinking on things that can pull them away from faith.  Remember it says in the Bible:

"6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” Philipians 4: 6-9 KJV

This reminds me every time I see this verse of the old Sunday School song “Be Careful Little Eyes What You See” and if you are like me you are either humming it, singing it, or have it going through your mind right now!  

If you are looking for safe, encouraging, and faith based entertainment that you can share with your family and friends I highly recommend Pure Flix.   My family and I actually own quite a few Pure Flix™ produced movies that we watch on our family movie nights but getting the Pure Flix streaming has opened us up to even more possibilities.  Pure Flix not only has some amazing Christian and faith based movies but they also offer other things as well.  They have child safe programing, educational programing that can be used in conjunction with Homeschooling, sermon and ministry films and series, documentaries, short films, and other series.   

I love all the information they give with the movies and other shows on Pure Flix to help guide you and your family in what might be best for you to view.  They are very clear about what is in the movies so you will know if one movie may be a little too intense for a little one and what in the movie makes it that way.  It is a blessing to have this information.

Walking on Legos or Rising in Worship

         Have you ever seen a room full of Lego building blocks spread across the floor?  If you have children you probably have!  You may have also had the painful experience of stepping on one, two, three, or more Lego blocks on the floor when getting up to check on your child in the middle of the night.  Walking on Lego blocks is not fun!  It hurts!  It catches you by surprise most of the time and it can be excruciatingly painful!  I have step on my fair share of Lego blocks in my life both figuratively and physically!  Life is messy just like those blocks that a strewn across the floor.  There are things we need to avoid spiritually and emotionally at times that are strewn across the figurative floor of our lives every day!  Spending time in worship is one way to rise above those stumbling blocks.

     Every day we come across various stumbling blocks that are set out before us.  We have temptations and trials just as we are told in the word of God!      "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,  he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13  God provides us with a way out when the temtations are beyond what we can bear.  One way I think that He gives us to get out is to focus our eyes on Him.  When our eyes are focused on the path that the Lord has put before us it is a lot easier to see those sharp stumble blocks put before us!  Worship time is one way we can keep focused on that path!

     When we worship we are concentrating on one thing and one thing only…well atleast we should be… bringing honor, glory, and praise to the Creator of the Universe, our Abba, our Heavenly Father!  We are also focused on listening to the Lord and seeing His will for us.  It is amazing just how much a time of worship can free us!  Not only does worship bring sweet incense unto the Lord it also become a throne on which He dwels or a place for The to Live!  We can see this in the following verses!

"Let my prayer be like incense set before you, my uplifted hands like an evening sacrifice.” Psalm 141:2 CJB

"In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse.”  2 Corinthians 2:15 MSG

"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”  Psalm 22:3 KJV

"And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16

What a blessing it is to know that God is with us through our trials!  What a privilege it is to be able to worship God when the the road is smooth and when there are stumbling blocks in our path.  It is only His joy and His strength that can help us through those challenging times.  

I am beyond thankful that God has blessed me with a heart to worship and praise Him!  It is such a blessing to come before His throne… the throne of praises… in worship!  I know that if you are reading this that God has created you to worship as well.  Sing, dance, wave banners, create art, bow before Him, write, proclaim His goodness,  lift your eyes and your heart to Him, and worship Him the way He has created you to worship today!  

Does this mean you will never step on one of those sharp building block that will make you stumble, cry out, or fall to your knees again.  No, we all go through hard things… it is a part of our refining, part of our testimony, and part of how we can love our neighbors even better.  By spending more time in worship though you will be able to see those blocks more clearly.  The will be illuminated as dangers in your spirit and you will be able to rise above and dance for joy before the Lord!

Organize with more purpose: a Christ centered perspective on organizing like Marie Kondo

There has been a lot of talk about Marie Kondo and her style of organizing all over the place. I have seen people posting all about their organizing and about why a certain item brings them joy. I decided that it was time that I dug a little deeper into this subject. So I watched a few videos.

Organizing is amazing. Tidying up is great! Marie’s folding techniques can save a ton of room in your drawers! I am all for making more room! Getting rid of extra stuff not only can help others but it also can help give you more time to do what you love but there are a few things in the KonMari Method™ that I think Christians should be aware of when they are organizing. I have some fun ideas that can help take this style of organizing to the next level that I will be sharing with you and I have some ideas on how to organize with a Kingdom perspective. I do want to share a couple concerns about a couple things first I have seen others do when following Marie Kondo.

The first thing that concerned me was that you are told to keep only what brings you joy. Some times we have things in our lives that are there to challenge us... like books that challenge us to live better lives for the Lord. These things don’t always bring us joy but they effect change in our lives that push us to be better. If we get into a pattern of only keeping in our lives what brings us joy and pleasure we will miss out on a lot. My concerns with this are two fold.

1. First joy is not found in things ultimately it is found in our relationship with the LORD. If week seek joy in things that are not eternal we will be left unsatisfied and will ultimately try to find joy in more things. Instead if we look at the Bible we can see just how we can have fullness of joy even in trials. Here are just a couple verses about this. 
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

2. Some times the things that bring us joy are not things that benefit us or others around us. We can find joy in things that can cause us or others to sin. Part of loving our brother’s and sisters is to be aware of what we have or do that can cause them to stumble and being aware of what can cause us to stumble. Yeshua (Jesus) is very clear on this subject. Kingdom perspective is key! 
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.”

The second thing that bothered me about the KonMari Method™ was the thanking of the house and items that bring you joy whether you are keeping the items, donating them, or throwing them away. We have to remember to thank the Lord for our gifts that He has blessed us with. He is the creator of all. 
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

“You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.”
‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Thanking items is giving honor and power and glory to those items. Basically it is a form of idol worship which gives way to much power to things. Instead of thanking the items I would encourage Christians who are going through and getting rid of things to thank The LORD for the good gifts that He has given! If it is something you are going to donate or give away thank the Lord that that item could go to help someone in need. If it is something you are tossing because it would make someone stumble or is something broken thank The LORD for giving you the wisdom to get rid of it and not hold on to it. 
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.”

“always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So how can we are Christians tidy up and great rid of things we don’t need with a Kingdom perspective that gives all Glory and Honor to the LORD? I have a few ideas!

Instead of asking if an item brings you joy ask these things:

1. First of all pray and ask The LORD if it is something He wants you to have! Praying and asking the LORD first can give you a lot of insight!
2. Does the item bring honor to The LORD or does it bring honor to something else? If it honors Him and He says go ahead and keep it then keep it. If it is an idol or something that dishonors the LORD get rid of it. 
3. If you were sitting with Yeshua (Jesus) would you wear it? If you would be ashamed to wear it in front of Yeshua, then you might want to toss it. If it is just an item that you don’t wear much or at all that is nice donate it!
4. Do you spend more time with the item then you do with spending time with the LORD? If the item detracts from your life, takes up too much time, or occupies more of your time then you have to spend one on one with the LORD then it might be something to get rid of! Of course we will tend to spend lots of time cooking and cleaning which we need to do (Just ask Martha about this) but remember what Yeshua said. Mary made the better choice by sitting at His feet and learning. ““Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”Luke‬ ‭10:41-42‬ ‭NIV‬‬
5. Could the item cause yourself or someone else to stumble? If an item can cause you to sin, if it is a temptation, if it could provoke jealousy, or if it could cause emotional issue get rid of it! Toss it! “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
6. Do you really need it or could someone else who has less enjoy it more? If you have many of one type of item think about who might need it or could use it and bless them with it. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke‬ ‭6:38‬ ‭NIV‬‬
7. Can you use the item to help others or help yourself in your walk with the LORD? Is the item something you can use to share the Gospel or something that you can use in a hospitality way or is it just taking up space? If it is just taking space donate it. If it can be used to help others, bless others, or to further the Kingdom of The LORD on the earth and you have a spot to put it... keep it! “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:31-33‬ ‭NIV‬

By asking yourself these questions you may find that there is a lot of “Just stuff” sitting around your house that not only takes away time from your relationship with the LORD but it also takes time away from your family and those that the LORD put in your life to minister to. Looking at things from a Kingdom perspective and doing everything as if you were working for the LORD can really make a difference.

Next, instead of thanking items, thank the LORD for what you have! Thank Him for His blessings! Thank Him for the wisdom He has given you in the tidying process! Give Him the Glory! Ask Him to bless those that will receive the items you donate and give to others! Ask Him to help you be a good steward of His good gifts! It is a much more joyful experience when you give the LORD the praise!

If you enjoy organizing and the great organization techniques that is great! I find it fun to make things look nice and tidy! I took the day yesterday to go through my clothing. I found asking the questions above made it easier to go through the items and I found so many things to bless others with that I don’t wear and won’t wear... many with tags still on. They will be such a blessing to those with less and I will be a better steward of what I receive, especially if I think about the questions above before purchasing items!

Sharing the Love of Yeshua Through Crafts and Kind words


This is going to be an exciting time!  Asher and I are going to be doing Make and Take crafts at the Evergreen State Fair to bring joy in to the lives of those we meet and share a little bit of the joy of the Lord with all those who come by!  We will be making fun diffuser jewelry on some days and fun shell art on other days.  Some days we will be doing both!  This is a great way to get out into our greater community and serve! 

I know it doesn’t sound like normal ministry work but when you make a person smile who hasn’t smiled in awhile and give them some of the Love that God placed in your heart it can do amazing things!   On the jewelry we will have them be writing a positive affirmation word like, Faith, Hope, Joy, Love, Strength, Courage, Dream, Believe, Dance, Sing, and Smile.   This will give them something positive to hold on to.  Then we will be giving out little cards with “You were meant to Soar!” on them to link back to this website.  It is our prayer that each and every person we get to talk to will be blessed in some way and that we will be able to share God’s love in a tangible way!  Some times people just need to talk… and we will be there to make fun stuff and talk.  Sewing seeds of love, hope, joy, and faith into lives in our community! 

It is so great to see the joy on a child’s face when they create something on their own.   Likewise it is amazing how people open up when you are doing something fun!  

Lord God, we pray that you go with us out into the fair!  We pray that you will work through our art project to bring your joy, strength, and love into the lives of people we interact with on the days that we will be volunteering in the arts and craft area.  Lord use our hands and use our voices as your own.  Let us be vessels for your honor and glory and let your will be done in that place!  Lord God, we pray that people will be encouraged, supported, and touched by your amazing love as we make crafts and that you will be glorified in all that we do.  May the Love of Yeshua, Jesus Crist our Savior, shine through in amazing ways!  We ask this by the power and authority Yeshua gave us to ask in His name, amen!

Asher Pack Blessing Bags, Making a Difference Everywhere!



God created us to be a reflection of His love here on Earth.  When we do something for others it is like an act of worship if we do it for God’s glory and not our own.   Asher Packs have been a part of our life for quite some time… but the recently got a name upgrade!  Asher Pack Blessing Bags!   When we did the first street ministry along with Asher we let him pick out what he wanted to put in the bags to give to those we met who were in need.   This is something that I have been doing since college.  If I had extra I would take it out to those in need on the streets.  

We are so blessed that Asher wants to do it with us too!  This summer we have taken Asher packs all over with us because you never know when you will see someone who need some help and the love of God.  This is an easy thing that any family can do together.  Asher and I have taken several trips to Seattle this summer to pass these out and Chris has gotten to come with us too when he wasn’t working.  You don’t have to go into the streets of a major city to do this though.  We carry Asher packs in our car so when we see someone with a sign needing help we give them out.

A card with a Bible verse  and a note that says “God Loves you!” on it. 

Juice or water

A pair of Sock

A Couple bandaids

Comb

Raisin or Dried Cranberries

Some sort of heath bar or granola bar

Sometimes nut butter packs

A treat

Fruit leather

and one of our S.O.A.R.I.N.G. bracelets

You don’t have to do everything like this!  Some water, and some food could be a blessing to those in need.  They don’t have to have so much.  Do what you can!  Every little bit makes a difference!  

Who do we give our bags out to?

We mostly give our bags out to homeless people who need the help but on occasions when have given them to people who just needed to be cheered up, or people who where in an emergency.   Some times we change what is in the bag to fit a situation.   


What are other types of blessing bags that can be made?

You can make a get well bag to give to friends, family, church members, or people you know in the hospital and include items that they might need.  A cheery card, a treat (appropriate for the hospital situation), a stress toy, a puzzle book, stickers, something to hold, and even things like  lip balms can be nice for those in the hospital. 

You could make a going to college blessing bag with some snacks, words of encouragement, and a fun stressball in it.

You could make a travel blessing bag for those going on a trip or doing mission work that included something they like to eat, some notes for thier trip, something to read, something fun, or even an eye patch for sleeping better.

You could make an encouragement blessing bag with things to encourage someone going through a hard time! 

Really the sky is the limit on what you can do to bless others in and around you in your daily life!

Asked to speak to brothers and sisters in Christ in Pakistan

I was asked by a pastor friend in Pakistan to share the word of the Lord with believers in Pakistan today.  It is a great honor that I do not take lightly.  I prayed a lot and this is the word the Lord gave for me to share!  This is the word the Lord gave me to share.  I did go a little off script so I will share the video here as well when it is done loading! Though I do not have the whole thing translated into Urdu I will post the Bible scriptures in Urdu for those who can read in Urdu.  The sermon is spoken in English. 



Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Yeshua, Jesus Christ!  Welcome brothers and sisters in Christ!  It is a great honor to be sharing with you tonight the word the Lord has given me to share with you.  I feel very blessed and honored that Brother Sajin has asked me to speak with you today and share the word of the Lord with you today! 

I spent a lot of time thinking on the ways of the Lord and on His word and praying before I felt I knew what I needed to share with you today!  There were actually 3 things that the Lord put on my heart.  The first is how much the God of the Universe loves you!  Secondly, when we give our lives over to God completely we become the body of Christ and His Holy Temple wether we are in a church building, in the work place, on the streets, or in our homes we need to submit all to God so that He can shine His light through us!  Lastly, that  God has given each one of you special gifts to share His love with others that will bring honor and glory to Him when you share them with others!

Do you know how much God loves you?  Do you know that He called you all to be followers of Christ and that He chose you to do great things for Him?  It is true!  God loves you so much that He gave His son to take your place and my place too!  The sacrifice that Jesus made of the cross not only poured God’s grace out upon us but it also opened a door for us to have a real relationship with the Creator of the Universe!  

You are a treasure to God!  His word says in Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself. I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”  In this verse God was talking to a very young Jeremiah.  Just like the Lord knew Jeremiah before he was born, so He also knew you before you were born.  He had a plan for you, a purpose, you were called to Him by name!  He knew each and every one of us while we were still sinners and He loved us so much that He gave us the gift of Grace and Mercy through the blood of Jesus that was spilled on the cross.  He gave us the key to everlasting life when Jesus took the keys of death and hell from the evil one.  Jesus says in John chapter 3 verse 16 through 18 

““For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through him, the world might be saved. Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God’s only and unique Son.” 

This is a gift we can not earn, we can not pay for, and we can not ever deserve.  It is a gift of so much love that we at times can not fathom how deep the love that the Lord has for each and every one of us.  Ephesians chapter 3 verses 14 through 19 state “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

In Ephesians chapter 3 we not only see that the Love of God is so immense, so large, that we can’t fathom His love with our beings but we also see that when we come to know Jesus as our savior that His Holy Spirit strengthens our faith and dwells with in us.  We become the living temple of the Lord!  

1 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 19 through 20 state “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

As living temples we must sanctify ourselves through giving everything over to the Lord so that we may be His living church on earth.  We together are all the “church”.  We do not need a building to share the love of the Lord through we only need our willing hearts and the strength that God has put in us through the Holy Spirit!  We must purify our hearts and our minds and set our thoughts on what the Lord would have us think on.  We must tear down the idols in our lives because when there are idols in our lives how can we be the temple of God! 

2 Corinthians chapter 6 verses 16 through 18 explains this well, “What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.””  God does not want anything in between us and Him.  If we put things above the Lord wether it be possession, our lifestyle, our choices or things we treasure we can not know the fullness of God’s love in our lives nor can we experience the absolute beauty and joy of fellowship with Him.  

Jesus said himself in Matthew chapter 5 verse 48 “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”   When we look at the original Greek text for this verse you can see there are two different words that are translated as “perfect” in this verse.  Both words come from the base work te´los which mean completing a goal, or coming to completion in a spiritual sense.  So when we look at this we see that Jesus is asking us to become complete and mature in our faith as God is complete!  To become complete and mature in our faith we must give everything over to the Lord, praying without ceasing about all things in our lives.  When we seek His direction in our every day lives at every moment we become living vessels and temples that truly shine the light of the Lord where ever we are.

Do not be afraid to shine His light in your life.  God did not create you without armor.  He is there with you and you as a living temple with be wrapped in His amazing armor.  We read about this in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10-18 

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”. 

These verses in themselves are several teachings on their own so I won’t go into great detail right now.  I just want to remind you that He has given you tools to protect you in your faith.  Jesus spoke to Paul in a vision in Acts chapter 18 verses 9 and 10 “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.””  Since God says in His word that he is not a respecter of persons, what He will do for one He will do for another if we seek His will for our lives and follow the path that He has placed before us.

God has also given each an every member of the “Body of Christ”  “The Church” gifts that we can use to glorify Him in our lives.  He has placed a calling on each and every life to 

... “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””

Mark 16:10, 15-18  

Jesus wants us to use our gifts that the Lord has given us in our every day lives.  We are not to put away our gifts when we go out into the world but are to share of them freely.   Where do these gifts come from and how do we receive them?  The Lord God has gifted them to us through the Holy Spirit! 

We read in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verses 1-11 “Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”

Have you been given the gift of wisdom?  Then you should share it with your brothers and sisters in Christ!  Have you been given the gift of prophesy then speak out the words that the Lord has given you to speak!  Have you been given the gift of tongues or the interpretations of tongues?  Then speak out boldly when the Lord calls on you to speak.  Sometimes the gift of tongues is for personal time with God where the utterances of the Lord are spoken in your prayer closet as direct communication between you and the Lord when He gives them to you and other times it is to be spoken out in the body of Christ so that others may hear the word of the Lord.  It is important in those times that an interpretation be spoken either at the very same time or at the end of the speaking of tongues so that the Lord can be magnified and His words can be revealed.   Do you have the gift of discernment where God shows you what is happening in the spiritual realm and can see or feel when thing are of God or not of God?  Then share that with those who need it.  Do not hold it back!  You may be the only one who can tell someone how to get free from spiritual bondage that they are in.   Have you been given the gift of Healing, or intercession...then pray for those the Lord puts on your heart to pray for! 

If you do not know the gifts that the Lord has given you it is ok... but please take time to seek the Lord and ask Him what He wants you today.  Sometimes it is in our willingness to give our all that we see His gifts manifest in our lives! 

1 Corinthians 12 continuing on from verse 12 through 31 ““For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.”

When we come together as the Body of Christ we will see the fullness of our faith because we will see what it is that Jesus told us in John chapter 14 verse 12 through 14 ““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”  God will begin to work through us in a powerful way so that He may be glorified through us.  We can not do this on our own... we can only do this through the power of the Lord and must pray, seeking His will in our lives... then we will see miracles in the lives around us, we will see people healed from disease, we will see people set free from chains of bondage, and we will see even greater miracles then where happening in Jesus time because He said so!  This is such a powerful promise to take ahold of!  God wants to use us as His body and living temples to change lives.  He wants us to earnestly seek after his spiritual gifts and he wants us above all to Love the Lord with all our hearts and minds and love our neighbors and even our enemies!  Great is the Lord, then any power of darkness on Earth!  What He spoke He will be faithful to fulfill through His willing vessels like you and like me!  We are a remnant called forth for His service and He will give us all the tools we need to serve him in a mighty way!

مسیح کی محبت

14 اس لئے میں اس باپ کے سامنے گھٹنے ٹیک کر دعا میں اپنا سر جھکا دیتا ہوں۔ 15 آسمان اور زمین کا ہر خاندان اس سے نام پاتا ہے۔ 16 میں باپ سے دعا کرتا ہوں کہ وہ اپنے عظیم جلال سے تمہیں طاقت دیگا اور وہ اپنی رُوح کی قوت سے تمہیں طا قت دیگا۔ 17 میں دعا کر تا ہوں کہ مسیح تمہارے ایمان کی بدولت تمہارے دلوں میں رہے گا اور تمہاری زندگی محبت میں طاقت ور ہو گی اور محبت پر قائم رہیگی۔ 18 اور میں دعا کر تا ہوں کہ تم اور خدا کے مقدس لوگو ں کے ساتھ مسیح کی محبت کو سمجھیں کہ وہ کتنی لمبی چوڑی اور کتنی اونچی اور کتنی گہری ہے۔ 19 مسیح کی عظیم محبت ہر کسی آدمی کی سمجھ سے بالا تر ہے جسے میری دعا ہے کہ تم اس محبت کو سمجھو تب ہی تم خدا کی سب نعمتوں سے معمور ہو جاؤ گے۔

19 کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ مقدس روح تم میں ہے وہ خدا کی طرف سے تحفہ میں ملی ہے اور وہ تمہا را جسم روح القدس کی ہیکل ہے ؟ وہ تمہا ری بنائی ہو ئی نہیں ہے۔ 20 اس لئے کہ خدا نے تم کو قیمت دے کر خریدا ہے پس تم اپنے جسم سے خدا کی تعظیم کرو۔


۲ کرنتھیوں

16 خدا کی ہیکل کا بتوں سے کیا نسبت اور ہم زندہ رہنے والے خدا کی ہیکل ہیں جیسا کہ خدا نے کہا:

“میں انکے ساتھ رہونگا ،اور انکے ساتھ چلونگا ،میں انکا خدا ہونگا ،اور وہ میرے لوگ ہونگے” [a]

17 “اس واسطے خداوند فر ما تا ہے کہ ، ان لوگوں میں سے نکل آؤ    اور اپنے آپ کو ان سے الگ رکھو، نا پا ک چیزوں کو مت چھو ؤ تو میں تمہیں قبول کروں گا۔” [b]

خدا کا زرہ بکتر پہنو

10 اپنا خط ختم کر تے ہو ئے میں تم سے کہتاہوں کہ خدا وند میں اور اسکی قدرت میں طا قتور بنو۔ 11 اپنے بچاؤ کے لئے خدا کا زرہ بکتر پہن لو تا کہ شیطان کے فریب کے منصوبوں کا مقابلہ کر سکو۔ 12 ہماری لڑا ئی زمین کے لوگوں کے خلاف نہیں۔ہم تو زمین کی تاریکیوں کے حاکموں اور انکی شرارت کی روحانی فوجوں کے خلاف ہیں۔ ہم تاریکی کے حاکموں اور ان ناپاک گندے عزائم رکھنے والے جو آسمانی مقاموں میں ہیں انکے خلاف لڑ تے ہیں۔ 13 اسی لئے تمہیں خدا کے پو رے زرہ بکتر کی ضرورت ہے تا کہ برا ئی کے دن تم جب یہ لڑا ئی ختم کر چکو تو طاقتور بن کر کھڑے رہ سکو۔

14 اس لئے طاقتور بن کر ٹھہرو اور سچا ئی کے کمر بند سے کمر کس کر کھڑے رہو اور اپنے سینے پر سچا ئی کا زرہ بکتر پہن کر ٹھہرو۔ 15 اور اپنے پیروں میں امن کی خوش خبری کی نعلین پہن لو جو تمہیں طا قت سے کھڑے رہنے میں مدد دے گی۔16 اور اپنے ایمان کی سپر استعما ل کرو جس سے تم شیطان کے چلتے ہوئے تیروں سے محفوظ رہ سکو۔ 17 خدا کی نجات کا خود اور روح کی تلوا ر رکھ لو جو خدا کی تعلیما ت ہیں۔ 18 اور ہر وقت روح میں ہر طرح کی دعا اور منت کرتے رہو اس طرح کر نے کے لئے ہر وقت تیار رہو ہمیشہ خدا کے تمام لوگوں کے لئے دعا کرو۔

روح القدس کے تحا ئف

12 بھا ئیو اور بہنو! اب میں نہیں چا ہتا کہ تم روحانی نعمتوں کے سلسلہ میں بے خبر رہو۔ کیا تم جانتے ہو جب تم ایمان کے قائل نہیں تھے تو تم لوگ گونگے بتوں کی پرستش کر نے کے لئے کئی طری کی گمرا ہی میں مبتلا تھے۔ پس میں تمہیں بتا تا ہوں کہ جو کو ئی خدا کی روح کی ہدا یت سے بولتا ہے وہ نہیں کہتا کہ“یسوع ملعون ہے” اور بغیر روح القدس کی مدد کے کو ئی نہیں کہہ سکتاکہ “یسوع خداوند ہے۔”

نعمتیں تو طرح طری کی ہیں سب ایک ہی روح سے ہیں۔ خدمتیں بھی کرنے کے کئی طریقے ہیں لیکن وہ سب اسی خداوند سے ہیں۔ کہ الگ طریقے کی سر گرمیاں ہیں لیکن وہ سب اسی خدا کے ہیں۔ خدا سب میں ہے اور سب کے ذریعہ سے کام کرتا ہے۔

ہر شخص میں کچھ دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔ دوسرے لوگوں کی مدد کے لئے ہر شخص میں یہ صلا حیت روح نے دی ہے۔ کسی کو روح کے وسیلہ سے حکمت کے کلام کی صلا حیت ملی۔ کبھی دوسرے کو وہی روح نے صلا حیت دی کہ علمیت سے بات کرے۔ اور کسی کو اسی روح نے ایمان دی اور وہی دوسروں کو شفاء دینے کی نعمت دی۔ 10 اور وہی روح کسی کو معجزوں کی قدرت اور کسی کو نبوت اور کسی کو بدروحوں کا امتیاز اور کسی کو طرح طرح کی زبانیں کہنے کی صلا حیت اور کسی کو زبانوں کا تر جمہ عنایت ہوا۔ 11 لیکن یہ سب نعمتیں وہی ایک روح کی طرف سے جو ہر ایک کو جو چاہتا ہے بانٹتی ہے۔

مسیح کا بدن

12 بدن ایک ہے ،اعضاء کئی ہیں یہاں تک کہ اعضاء زیادہ ہیں مگر باہم مل کر ایک ہی بدن ہے۔ مسیح بھی کچھ اس طرح ہی ہے۔13 ہم سب کو چاہئے یہودی ہوں یا یونانی غلام ہویا آزاد ایک ہی روح کے وسیلہ سے بپتسمہ دیا گیا ایک ہی بدن میں ، ایک ہی بدن کے مختلف اعضاء بن جانے کے لئے اور ہم کو سب ایک مقدس روح دی گئی۔

14 اب تم دیکھ سکتے ہو بدن کسی ایک حصہ سے نہیں بنا بلکہ اس میں بہت سے حصےّ ہو تے ہیں۔ 15 اگر پاؤں کہے،“چونکہ میں ہاتھ نہیں اس لئے میں بدن کا نہیں” تو کیا اسوجہ سے وہ بدن کا حصہ نہیں رہتاہے۔ 16 اور اگر کان کہے، “چونکہ میں آنکھ نہیں اس لئے بدن سے نہیں ہوں” تو کیا اس سبب سے وہ بدن کا حصہ نہیں رہیگا؟ 17 اگر سارا بدن آنکھ ہی ہوتا تو وہ کیسے سنتا؟ اگر سارا بدن کان ہی ہوتا تو وہ کیسے سونگھتا؟ 18 لیکن فی الوا قع خدا نے بدن میں ہر ایک حصہ اپنی مرضی کے موا فق اپنی جگہ رکھا ہے۔ 19 اگر تمام اعضاء ایک ہی اعضاء ہو تے تو بدن کہاں ہوتا۔ 20 لیکن اب یہ صحیح ہے اعضاء تو کئی ہیں، بدن صرف ایک ہے۔

21 تو وہ آنکھ ہا تھ سے نہیں کہتی، “مجھے تمہا ری ضرورت نہیں ہے” اسی طرح کہ سرپا ؤں سے نہیں کہتا، “مجھے تمہا ری ضرورت نہیں ہے۔” 22 بدن کے وہ اعضاء جو اوروں سے بہت کمزور لگتے ہیں بہت ہی ضروری ہیں۔ 23 ہم چند اعضاء کو جنہیں کم اہم سمجھتے ہیں در حقیقت ہم ان کی ہی زیادہ دیکھ بھا ل کرتے ہیں۔ اور ہم ہما رے نا زیبا اعضاء کی بہت دیکھ بھا ل کرتے ہیں۔ 24 دوسری طرف ہما رے زیادہ خوبصورت اعضاء کو دیکھ بھا ل کی ضرورت نہیں خدا نے بدن کو اس طرح مرکّب کیا ہے جس سے وہ اعضاء کو جو کم خوبصورت ہیں اور زیادہ عزت پا تے ہیں۔ 25 خدا نے ایسا اس لئے کیا کہ بدن میں تفرقہ نہ پڑے لیکن یہ پورے اعضاء یکساں ایک دوسرے کے برا بر فکر رکھیں۔ 26 اگر بدن کا ایک عضو تکلیف پا تا ہے تو سب اعضاء اس کے ساتھ آپس میں تکلیف پا تے ہیں۔ اگر ایک عضو عزت پا تا ہے تو تب سب اعضاء اس کے ساتھ مل کر خو ش ہو تے ہیں۔

27 اسی طرح تم مسیح کا بدن ہو اور ہر ایک اس کے بدن کا حصہ ہیں۔ 28 اور خدا نے کلیسا میں مختلف لوگوں کو مقرر کیا۔ پہلے رسول دوسرے نبی ، تیسرے استاد پھر معجزے دکھا نے وا لے پھر وہ لوگ شفاء کی نعمت دینے وا لے اوروہ لوگ جو دوسروں کی مدد کر تے ہیں اور وہ لوگ جو قائدین کی خدمت کرتے ہیں اور وہ لوگ جو مختلف طرح کی زبانیں بولتے ہیں۔ 29 کیا سب رسول ہیں؟ کیا سب نبی ہیں ؟ کیا سب استاد ہیں ؟ کیا سب معجزے دکھا نے وا لے ہیں؟ 30 کیا سب کو شفاء دینے کی قوت عنایت ہو ئی ہے؟کیا سب طرح طرح کی زبانیں بولتے ہیں؟ کیا سب تر جمہ کر نے کی صلا حیت ر کھتے ہیں۔ 31 تم ضرور عمدہ سے عمدہ نعمتوں کی آرزو رکھتے ہو اب میں تم سب سے عمدہ راستہ بتا تا ہوں۔

No Titles Neccessary, Needed, or Required

I finally figured out why I don’t like my title!

     Today as I was reading the word of God I came across a chapter that I am sure I have read several times in my life time.  It was one that was very familiar to me but this time it spoke directly to me. 

     For some time I have been uncomfortable with my title of “Pastor” even though I am an ordained minister for the Lord.  It just didn’t feel right adding something special to my name... so I changed my title to outreach minister which I felt was more of a description of what I do then a title like... this is Kristin Campbell...she is an outreach minister for Grace Soaring ministries.   Even that has begun to feel uncomfortable to me.  Not because I don’t feel called.  In fact I feel more and more of the Lord’s calling on a daily basis.  I can see the Lord working through us and through our ministry so I know that this is what His plan and purpose is for my life.  

     It is when I read the 23rd Chapter of Matthew that I began to see clearly why I don’t like the title!  Specifically where the Yeshua (Jesus Christ) says, ““But you are not to let yourselves be called ‘Rabbi’; because you have one Rabbi, and you are all each other’s brothers.” Mattityahu (Matthew) 23:8 CJB.  This totally spoke to me!  It wasn’t to long ago in churches everywhere that when you address someone it was as “Brother ____” or “Sister____”.   I have noticed a growth in people desiring titles...especial “Reverend Doctor ____” or “Apostle ___” or even “Prophet___” instead of just their name or “Brother or Sister ___”.  They want the notoriety that comes with a title, they want the honor that comes with that title, they want to be known for their gifts rather then known for their servants heart.  I don’t want to be counted among those who need a title. 

     Am I ordained, Yes!   Do I have a degree, Yes!   Do I have a special title degree, Yes... I have an honorary Doctorate.  Do I need any of that to be a servant of the Most High God and a minister to those I meet... well probably not.  The only exception would be ordination, but to tell you the truth I was ordained by the Lord a long time before I was ordained into ministry by man receiving my ordination papers.  The only advantage to having this type of ordination is to be able to legally marry people which I absolutely adore doing!    So that is the only good part of my “Pastor” title which is on my ordination papers!  

     So after reading Matthew 23 what I would like to do is be address by my name Kristin or by Sister Kristin (that would be ok too).    I have unknowing naturally not added a title when out ministering to people I meet on the streets.  I introduce myself as “Kristin”.  I don’t need the title accept for when I am marrying people for legal reasons.  We are all called to minister to each other as followers of Yeshua!  We are all called to be servants of the Most High God!  We all have gifts!  It say so in 1 Corinthians 12.  We don’t have to be known by the gifts we are given wether we teach, prophesy, minister apostolically, have gifts of healing, speak in tongues, interpret tongues, wether we have been given wisdom or wether we have been given special faith.  We are all 1 body... the body of Christ called to work together for God’s glory and not for our own names or glory. 

     Yes, Lord!  I hear you and I will obey your word in my life!  I do not need a fancy title!  I am your vessel use me as you will!  Thank you Lord God for this word that you spoke to me.  My prayer is that more ministers of the Lord will begin to see that titles aren’t important and that what is truly important is that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ (we are family), and that we are all called to love God and love others!  This is a challenge for all my friends who are servants of God... be known by the Love of God that shines through you so that He is the one glorified in your life!  Lay it all before the Lord, not my will but Thy will Oh Lord be done! ❤️

Happy Independence Day!  As I reflect on the blessing it is to live where I live and have the life I live I am also reflecting on what is going on all around me in our country.  The Love of Jesus is not first and foremost on the mind of most of the people I have seen.  Instead anger and sadness, entitlement, and ungratefulness are among the top emotions and top sentiments that I see posted and spoken all around.   What if for one day… say today (and every day forward) we lay down our anger and disappointment at the foot of the cross and do what the Lord commanded us to do! 

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it:‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV

When we step out in faith and do these two simple things lives are changed!  Let’s Spark some change in our country and in our world by sharing kindness and love with all we meet!  What if our love for God was so vast that we could not help but let it overflow into our daily life!  What if that love lit up a burning desire in our hearts to love those around us… especially those who have wronged us.  Each spark of love that is passed from one person to another will grow until the whole world is full of the Love of Jesus!  

I know that this may seem like a fantasy and that surely the whole world could not be filled with the love of God… but I find that harder to believe.  I believe that God has given us the love that we need to share with others.  He has given us greater mercy, grace, and kindness then we could ever imagine.  When we let that love take over our lives it is quite radical.  We begin to see others through God’s love for them and we begin share that love everywhere. 

Today Spark a little love in your life!  Share it with everyone you meet and see just how amazing God’s love for you is!
