Walking on Legos or Rising in Worship

legos

Have you ever seen a room full of Lego building blocks spread across the floor?  If you have children you probably have!  You may have also had the painful experience of stepping on one, two, three, or more Lego blocks on the floor when getting up to check on your child in the middle of the night.  Walking on Lego blocks is not fun!  It hurts!  It catches you by surprise most of the time and it can be excruciatingly painful!  I have step on my fair share of Lego blocks in my life both figuratively and physically!  Life is messy just like those blocks that a strewn across the floor.  There are things we need to avoid spiritually and emotionally at times that are strewn across the figurative floor of our lives every day!  Spending time in worship is one way to rise above those stumbling blocks.

Every day we come across various stumbling blocks that are set out before us.  We have temptations and trials just as we are told in the word of God!      "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,  he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13  God provides us with a way out when the temtations are beyond what we can bear.  One way I think that He gives us to get out is to focus our eyes on Him.  When our eyes are focused on the path that the Lord has put before us it is a lot easier to see those sharp stumble blocks put before us!  Worship time is one way we can keep focused on that path!

When we worship we are concentrating on one thing and one thing only…well atleast we should be… bringing honor, glory, and praise to the Creator of the Universe, our Abba, our Heavenly Father!  We are also focused on listening to the Lord and seeing His will for us.  It is amazing just how much a time of worship can free us!  Not only does worship bring sweet incense unto the Lord it also become a throne on which He dwels or a place for The to Live!  We can see this in the following verses!

"Let my prayer be like incense set before you, my uplifted hands like an evening sacrifice.” Psalm 141:2 CJB

"In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse.”  2 Corinthians 2:15 MSG

"But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”  Psalm 22:3 KJV

"And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16

What a blessing it is to know that God is with us through our trials!  What a privilege it is to be able to worship God when the the road is smooth and when there are stumbling blocks in our path.  It is only His joy and His strength that can help us through those challenging times.

I am beyond thankful that God has blessed me with a heart to worship and praise Him!  It is such a blessing to come before His throne… the throne of praises… in worship!  I know that if you are reading this that God has created you to worship as well.  Sing, dance, wave banners, create art, bow before Him, write, proclaim His goodness,  lift your eyes and your heart to Him, and worship Him the way He has created you to worship today!

Does this mean you will never step on one of those sharp building block that will make you stumble, cry out, or fall to your knees again.  No, we all go through hard things… it is a part of our refining, part of our testimony, and part of how we can love our neighbors even better.  By spending more time in worship though you will be able to see those blocks more clearly.  The will be illuminated as dangers in your spirit and you will be able to rise above and dance for joy before the Lord!
